Dear friends,
For already the ninth time now, South Moravia will host Emil Open, the European Youth Games for the Disabled. Over 4000 young athletes under the age of 26 have participated in the games so far, which is evidence of their great enthusiasm and desire to show maximum performance but also meet people and forge new friendships.
Emil Open is actually a small paralympics with all the ceremonies, the desire to give one’s best and an amazing atmosphere, so it definitely equals the big Olympic games, and this is what makes this project unique. It makes sense to support such events and this is why the South Moravian Region has been a proud partner for many years. People with a handicap are often a model for others thanks to their incredible toughness and their determination to stretch their abilities to the limits. Emil Open is an event where we can see all this happening. Therefore, I want to express my greatest appreciation to its organisers.
I believe it is not only athletes who will be happily returning to South Moravia and its capital Brno in the coming years. So, enjoy the sports and all the new experiences – enjoy Emil!
