Brno has had its jubilee 10th Emil Open. 700 athletes from 13 countries arrived. They all competed in five summer sports. On the first day, they also sent joint support to the Paralympians to Tokyo. Next year, the games will take place on June 22th and 26th, 2022. Today, disabled athletes sent heartfelt greetings from all Brno sports venues. With this gesture, they expressed support for the communities affected by the tornado.
Brno sports grounds once again welcomed young disabled athletes, thanks to the Emil Open. "We are glad that we all met in Brno and that we have already managed to hold full-fledged games this year, which help young people with disabilities to play sports," said Emil Open President Pavel Zbožínek. Thanks to the games, over 700 participants from 13 countries came to Brno.
Together, on the very first day in Náměstí Svobody, they supported the Czech Paralympians with huge applause. The event was traditionally endorsed, for example, by a moderator and actor, Jan Kraus, under whose lead the show Face to Face with Jan Kraus took place.
"We thank all the partners for their support; it would not be possible without them. The 11th Emil Open will be on June 22th and 26th, 2022, "concluded Zbožínek. Emil Open are open to disabled youth aged 10 to 26 years.
Emil Open significantly supports the city of Brno and the South Moravian Region. In addition, the games were financially supported by nine other regions of the Czech Republic. The general partner of Emil Open 2021 was Teplárny Brno. Dozens of volunteers also took part in the event, mainly from Masaryk University, which is also a long-term partner of the event. The partners also include the Czech Special Olympics Movement, the association of wheelchair users and Adapted.

Emilova sportovní, z. s., Is an association founded by the Emil Endowment Fund to support the development of the physical activities of the public and people with disabilities, the organization of sports events, and the establishment of sports clubs. The endowment fund thus expands and raises the profile of its charitable and sports activities.
The Emil Endowment Fund is a non-profit organization helping disabled children and young people under the age of 30 to play sports, primarily in the form of direct financial assistance. The Emil Endowment Fund has already supported over 8,000 individual athletes and sports
clubs. Its primary mission is to be a symbol of effective aid to disabled young athletes, help them overcome their own barriers through sports throughout the Czech Republic, find new friends, and discover "their" meaning of life.

The European Youth Games for the Disabled are an international sporting and social gathering for young people with disabilities. Due to the expected number of participants, international concept, the scope of sports activities of the accompanying and cultural program, this is a unique event of European format. The event builds on the successful and significantly growing previous years of games for disabled youth.
